Teaching Dollars New $ense

Have you been turned down for a checking account due to your past credit or a record in Chex Systems? Are you tired of going to the local check casher to cash your check?

Don’t let your past mistakes keep you from getting on your feet and opening a traditional bank account …

SPARC has teamed up with Get Checking to provide an answer for you!

Complete a one day financial literacy workshop and open a checking account at one of our participating banks. Other guidelines may apply.

Single parents face a unique challenge when dealing with financial issues. Issues such as low income, past debt, child support, legal fees and a host of others are barriers a large number of single parents face when seeking economic stability. Oftentimes financial devastation can occur simply due to a lack of knowledge. A sound financial education can prevent common pitfalls as well as to deter single parents from repeating the same financial mistake again and again.

To assist single parents with developing and maintaining a realistic budget and gain knowledge as well as to assist them with economic advancement, SPARC and Get Checking have the answer for you.

This financial literacy program is specifically designed to provide you with the information you need to open and successfully maintain a checking and/or savings account.

Sometimes single parents can be so overwhelmed with their situation, they cannot see a way out. Instead of trying to advance, they simply try to survive. Teaching Dollars New $ense provides them with the necessary tools to gain a sound financial education, assess their financial situation, develop a plan for financial stability, implement this plan and make plans to improve their economic condition. It also comes with the added bonus of a probationary checking account upon completion of the workshop.

Next class is June 20, 2008. Click here to register now!
