THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS
Every year we ask for people who are willing to “adopt” a family to provide them with toys for the children at the holidays. We do it in the name of Debbie Rauch, a SPARC volunteer who made Christmases merry for our families for a number of years. The families that are up for “adoption” are active participants in SPARC’s programs and are working on improving their situation, but are not in a financial position to
Some of our donors enjoy giving anonymously, while others like to celebrate with the families they’ve sponsored. To accommodate everyone’s wishes and schedules, we had four different holiday parties and a time for the parents to pick up presents that were donated anonymously. All in all, we estimate that we had almost $2,000 in presents donated.
Thanks to Todd and Jaqi Barker and family, Kevin Skidmore, the First Ladies’ Book Club, Wells Fargo Bank, Pat Decker, Old Navy at Mall of Georgia, Letilia Robinson, Gwinnett Village CID, Bridgette Boylan Interiors, Deborah Galloway, Mark Williams, the staff at Southern Lighting Source and the others who didn’t wish to be named. We decorated cookies and cupcakes at our parties. At Southern Lighting Source, we also played Pie Face. The look on the kids’ faces when the adults got hit with the whipped cream was priceless!
Through Evelyn Cooper, Chad Ellis and Chris Wiggins, we have been introduced to the wonderful people at Oldcastle Metals , who have helped us with back to school donations, Halloween parties and a number of other items. The 2016 Christmas party was an amazing experience, however.
Oldcastle and their business associates put together an amazing holiday party at The Main Event in Duluth. Salem Missionary Baptist Church provided free transportation for the families. We had a meal, presents and free play time. Santa came and handed out presents. We had 50 kids in 15 families who received presents and participated in our day.
Thanks so much to the following people and organizations:
Evelyn Cooper, Chad Ellis, Chris Wiggins and everyone at Oldcastle
Tiffany Perry and the staff at The Main Event
Linda McArdle and the staff at Hamilton State Bank
Kevin Pemberton and Pemberton Turk Supply
Dena Porter and Printing Trade Company
Deacon Gregory Bailey and all the parishoners at Salem Missionary Baptist Church
and all the people who wish to remain anonymous
