Mentoring Matters

Get a mentor for your son. Your daughter needs a mentor. You need to find a good mentoring program…

All of these are statements every single parent has probably heard at least once, most likely ad nauseum. Still, where does one find a good mentoring program? What should a concerned parent look for when seeking a mentor for their child?

SPARC supports the philosophy that it “takes a village to raise a child.” As part of that village, a mentor can assist a child from a single parent home in developing into a healthy, productive and successful adult.

Still, with the emphasis on mentoring, single parents are still challenged to find suitable mentors for their child. With waiting lists that are years long or programs that do not last, children from single parent homes find themselves doing without a valuable program that they need.

Mentoring Matters helps single parents identify reputable mentoring programs as well as techniques for identifying suitable mentors for their child when seeking out a mentor on their own.

If you operate a reputable mentoring program or know of one, please let us know by emailing us at info@singleparent411.org so that we can highlight this program in an upcoming article.
